This week, Superior recorded 20 new positive COVID-19 cases. While this may not seem like a huge number, since the pandemic began, Superior has only had 116 recorded positive cases. So 20 new cases is a significant spike — 17% of the total cases in Superior since the pandemic began have been recorded just this past week.
By publishing Superior’s COVID numbers, I hope our residents will recognize that this isn’t just a problem for our state or our county — it’s a problem right here where we live — and it’s getting worse. As you can see in the graph above, the rate of positive COVID-19 cases in Superior is increasing. (Data source: https://www.bouldercounty.org/families/disease/covid-19/covid-19-illness-data/)
We must all take action. I have already cancelled all my holiday plans and encourage you to do the same Stay home, stay safe. If you must go out for essential purposes, wear a mask. Wash your hands and keep your distance.
We all are in this together. Please take care of yourself and our community.
I’ve included a link to the current Public Health Order (dated Nov. 12, 2020) from Boulder County Public Health which is available here.
